Moon Water

I looked for HER

beneath the whiskered rocks
Floating above the Neon Island--

In the crags of scabby knees below
the steeples sparking boney scaffold--

Where the armor splits and arms
Ripen to sprout more bangled arms--

In the emu down of my bedroom
With hot wax pentagrams and pins--

Where wet weeds part in the sweet whining mud
Mellifluous mer-girl manes--

Where MOON traces her chipped fingernail
across the lake
         it shivers.
