Frida Flutterby: New Dia de los Muertos Work

Hello Dewdrops! The studio is encrusted with glitter--I've been working on my creepy craft fair items full throttle. I've been bewitched by Frida Kahlo: I'm borrowing color pallets and themes from her work for my Dia de los Muertos collection. Here's a peep of the latest votive piece:

As the holiday is about rebirth and transformation, I decided that my Frida skelly should have butterfly wings. I'm having a ball cobbling trash and trinkets into new pieces. My favorite part is lighting the birthday candles and waiting for the wax to drip!

What have you been up to in your studios, sweet peas?

You had me turning for my calendar when I read the Día de los Muertos title, just in case weeks had flown by unnoticed. :D
Was the skeleton originally blue? What size is the final piece? Now I want to melt birthday candles too. :)
Lol at the sweat peas typo. Very funny.
